Robin René Roberts, America's darling and anchor of ABC's morning show, "Good Morning America" has gone through a lot over the past years.
As with the rest of America, I saw the tears flowing down her cheeks on national television. Despite it all, Robin mustered the courage, resilience and strength to keep on pushing during those challenging months. We also watched as she took several months off work to undergo treatment for bone marrow transplant and for a rare blood disorder.
As if her health issues weren’t enough, Robin, 53-year-old, had to fly to Mississippi to see her 88-year-old mother, Lucimarian Tolliver Roberts, before she passed away.
Agreeing with First Lady Michelle Obama, 'You [Robin] continue to make us all proud.' Mrs. Obama tweeted her support to Robin: 'I am so happy for you and Amber!' She tweeted, while vacationing with her family, to praise Robin. Robin had acknowledged via Facebook that she is in a lesbian relationship with Amber Laign.
Robins’ girlfriend, Amber Laign is a 39-year-old massage therapist. The pair lives together. Laign was reportedly the major source of Robin’s strength through the health crisis.
Although friends, relatives and colleagues had known about the 10-year relationship, it is the first time Roberts has discussed her sexual orientation.
We wish Robin and Amber all the best!
