CNN reports that Sebastien de la Cruz, an 11-year-old San Antonio native singing of the national anthem in his mariachi outfit caused a stir during game 3 of the NBA Finals in his San Antonio hometown Tuesday.

Despite racist and bigoted criticisms from “some of our sick white brothers,” in criticizing Sebastien’s heritage, the San Antonio Spurs inviting

 

him back to sing the national anthem at Thursday’s NBA Finals Game 4. Sebastien’s parents are Americans of Mexican descent.

This site congratulates Sebastien, an American, for his outstanding rendition of his country’s national anthem. Sebastien is affectionately referred to as “El Charro de Oro” (the golden mariachi) around Texas.
