The Vatican is threatening to sue the Italian clothing manufacturer Benetton Clothing Company over their ‘Unhate’ ad campaign. Benetton’s ad spotlights Photoshopped photos of male world leaders kissing.
One of the pictures shows President Barack Obama kissing Hu Jintao of China and Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. Another ad shows Pope Benedict XVI kissing Ahmed Mohamed el-Tayeb, an Egyptian Imam.
The White House has not commented. All of the photos were PhotoShopped.
Photoshopping is a term that refers to the digital altering of a photo. The term originates from Adobe Photoshop, a photo imaging application software commonly used by professionals in the design industrial for
graphics designated for print.
