India Arie and Mary Mary will be kicking off the African Festival of the Arts (AFA) 22nd anniversary. This world-class destination for family fun event is the largest neighborhood festival in Chicago boasting more than 300,000 attendees. The Festival takes place throughout the Labor Day Weekend, September 2-5, 2011 in Chicago’s Washington Park.
The 22nd African Festival of the Arts revealed more of its extensive lineup today, with five more titles added to its Galas including Kefee, Bootsy Collins, Al B. Sure, Jon B and Christopher Williams.
Kefee, a wildly popular and kORA award-winning, Nigerian artist has joined the line-up. She will open for India Arie on Monday.
Also, Bootsy Collins (Parliament Funkadelic) has joined and will be the headliner for Saturday.
Al B. Sure, Christopher Williams, and Jon B will headline Friday night.
