Philadelphia Eagles signs Nnamdi Asomugha to million five-year contract
Philadelphia Eagles signed Nnamdi Asomugha, the hottest player on the free agent market, to a stunning $60 million five-year contract with $25 million guaranteed. Some analysts are saying Asomugha could have been offered more by Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets if he wasn’t focused on the Eagles. He thinks the Eagles have the chance of winning the next Super Bowl championship.
Considered to be one of the best cornerbacks in the National Football League, Asomugha spent his first eight seasons with the Oakland Raiders. He had a career-high eight interceptions in 2006, went to the Pro Bowl after the 2008, 2009 and 2010 seasons. He was also selected a first-team all-pro in 2008 and 2010.
For a young man who grew up playing soccer, Asomugha has come a long way. Both of his parents were born in Nigeria where soccer is the most popular sport.
