The GOP, their surrogate tea party, Rush Limbaugh, the birthers and Glenn Beck probably will not be reading the USA Today newspaper any time soon.
The magazine on Monday released their annual “USA Today-Gallup poll” in which they asked respondents what man and woman, living anywhere in the world, they most admired. Rankings from one to 10 were based on total mentions and reported in percentages.
For the third straight year, President Barack Obama ranked as the man most admired man living in the U.S.
Hillary Rodham Clinton, Mr. Obama's Secretary of State is the most-admired woman for the ninth year in a row.
With 22 percent of the respondents selecting President Obama, 5 percent selected former president George W. Bush and 4 percent selected Bill Clinton. With 2 percent or less: former South African President Nelson Mandela, computer tycoon Bill Gates, Pope Benedict XVI, the Rev. Billy Graham, former President Jimmy Carter, talk-show host Glenn Beck and the Dalai Lama.
