N.K. Gutiérrez named Beauty and Fashion Editor for Chocolate City



High-profile stylist, fashion consultant, wedding planner, actress, model, and motivational speaker.

 N.K was recently announced as the newest fashion editor for ChocolateCity.cc; an online magazine featuring social and economic issues, urban concerns, urban entertainment, and current events. As the new Beauty and Fashion Editor, N.K. will highlight seasonal trends and styles, keeping you abreast of all the latest tips and tricks.

The former Miss Kansas Belleza Latina, Miss Kansas A.G.I.F., and Miss Illinois USA contestant is also an accomplished actress; having played the role of Joanne Jefferson in RENT and Sister Felicity, in the Village Players presentation of Tennessee Williams' classic gem, Suddenly, Last Summer. N.K. has also appeared in Habla Mas on HBO Latino, Oprah, numerous TV and radio commercials, and a variety of independent films.

N.K. currently consults for Nars Cosmetics, Yves Saint Laurent Beautè, Kinerase Skin Care, Tela Organic Hair Care, Givenchy, and Clarisonic. She is a film, runway, and theatre make-up artist whose work appeared most recently in Style Chicago’s runway presentation in Chicago’s Fashion Week. N.K. has worked with and assisted a host of celebrity make-up artists including: Johnny Dosse, James Boehmer, Uzo, Lena Koro, and Norman Sands. Her 13 years of beauty industry experience has also afforded her the privilege to work with Iman Cosmetics, Dermablend, Flori Roberts, Ultima II, Charles of the Ritz, Hourglass, and Color Me Beautiful. She has also traveled around the country presenting in numerous fashion and trend shows for Freeze 24-7.

Gutiérrez holds a dual Bachelorette of Arts degree in Fashion: Textiles and Clothing in Business and Psychology, from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri. Ms. Gutiérrez completed her internship with Neiman Marcus, where she later became the youngest bridal consultant to represent the company.

She is a self-described "Blaxican" – A person who is racially mixed with African-American and Mexican. She grew up in Topeka, Kansas under the care of her loving Mexican mother in humble surroundings. She moved to the Chicago area five years ago to pursue her dreams.
