Eddie Long, a gay bashing preacher accused of homosexual acts

Court documents obtained by Chocolate City from the DeKalb County Courthouse in DeKalb County, Georgia shows that Bishop Eddie Lee Long, a prominent and well known African American pastor of a mega-church is being sued by three different young men for coercing them into sexual acts. Long, who is also married, is the senior pastor of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia.

The plaintiffs, Anthony Flagg, 21 year-old; Maurice Robinson, 20 year-old; and Jamal Parris, 23 year-old seek unspecified damages. Parris filed his lawsuit after hearing about the complaints by the other two plaintiffs. The lawsuits also name New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and the LongFellows Youth Academy.

Details from the lawsuits are too gross and sexually explicit to repeat on this site. However, the lawsuits did note that, "Long has a pattern and practice of singling out a select group of young male church members and using his authority as bishop over them to ultimately bring them to engage in sexual relationships."

According to Long's spokesperson, Art Franklin, “Pastor categorically and strongly denies the allegations, There much chatter had yesterday, but these complaints have been lodged definitely unfounded.”

I pray that these lawsuits are actually false and unfounded. Considering that Long is known as a harsh critic of the gays and lesbians communities, it will be beyond hypocritical if the claims in the lawsuits were valid.
