According to Las Vegas Metro Police, socialite Paris Hilton was arrested late Friday and booked into the Las Vegas’ Clark County Detention Center for possession of cocaine – a controlled substance.
Hilton was a passenger in a car when it was stopped during a routine traffic stop in front of the Wynn Hotel and Casino on the famed Las Vegas Strip. According to police spokesman from the Las Vegas Metro Police. The cocaine was found in Hilton's purse. The male driver of the car was arrested for DUI and drug possession. His name was not provided.
An individual answering our phone call to the detention center on 330 S. Casino Center Boulevard said that Hilton "had been booked and released." “She was released early Saturday morning,” he added.
On July 2, 2010, a court in South Africa had dropped a marijuana-smoking case against Hilton. The celebrity heiress appeared late Friday in a FIFA World Cup courtroom after being arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana at a quarterfinal match between Brazil and the Netherlands.
Approximately two weeks after the South Africa's arrest, Hilton was arrested again on July 17, with marijuana in her handbag by customs officials after she arrived at Figari airport in Corsica on a private jet from Paris.
After the South Africa incident, Hilton wrote on Twitter: "Hey guys, there's a lot of crazy rumors going around. Just want you all to know the truth. Everything is completely fine. I was not charged or arrested, cause I didn't do anything."
