
Nadja Benaissa, the 28 year-old pop star of the popular German all-female group, No Angels
On April 11, 2009, Benaissa was arrested in front of fans just ahead of a performance at a Frankfurt night club. She was jailed for 10 days and only after her arrest was it made public that she was HIV positive.
In court today, she said, “I am deeply sorry, I was absolutely careless in my behavior during those years and I am now willing to accept legal consequences.”
Benaissa, also admitted to being addicted to crack cocaine at age 14. She discovered her HIV status when she became pregnant at 16 in 1999. A verdict is expected on August 26. In Germany, a conviction for bodily harm carries a sentence of three months to 10 years in prison.

Good mention of the crack, I’ve been following this case for awhile and I keep getting distracted by the whole non-disclosure issue to look at her infection time line. She became a crackhead and then got HIV a couple years later. Golly gee could there possibly be a relationship there?
