
Car thieves Prefer Cadillac Escalade over Saturn VUE
The Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI), a part of the Arlington Virginia-based Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) have released their 2007-2009 model years report which shows data of thefts per insured vehicles on the road. IIHS-HLDI's is responsible for calculating theft claim rates for vehicles.
According to their report, the Cadillac Escalade, Ford F-250 pickup, Infiniti G37, Dodge Charger, Dodge Charger HEMI, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Hummer H2 4WD, Nissan Pathfinder Armada, Chevrolet Avalanche 1500, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and GMC Yukon large SUV top the list of highest insurance claims for theft.
Topping the list for the lowest losses are Volvo S80, Saturn VUE 4WD, Nissan Murano (2009), Saturn VUE (2008-09), Honda Pilot 4WD (2009), Subaru Impreza (2008-09), Toyota Prius, Mini Cooper, Toyota Tacoma, and Toyota Sienna.
