Flash Mob from an Entrepreneur Perspective

Flash mob or Flash network

A flash mob is usually the gathering of a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a designated public place to perform an unusual and pointless act (such as pillow fight or water balloon fight) for a brief time, and then quickly disperse. The term flash mob is generally applied only to gatherings organized via text messaging, social networking sites, or viral emails.

In the wake of the recent events and spontaneous youth violence, it appears that Philadelphia is fast becoming the epicenter of VIOLENT flash mobs. The city has experienced five major flash mobs – Internet summoning since December thus forcing businesses to close. The crowds from those flash mob gatherings have at times number in the hundreds with youth pushing or punching innocent passerby.

As CBS News correspondent Manuel Gallegus reported, “flash mobs have turned ugly. In Philadelphia last Saturday night, a flash mob turned violent, leading to several fights and an assault on a police officer. Several people were arrested.” Gallegus added this is the fifth rowdy flash mob in that city in a year.

From an entrepreneur perspective wouldn’t it be nice if group of business and prospective business owners’ flash mob or “flash network” and gathered for a common commitment to helping one another become successful in their respective businesses?
