Comedian Katt Williams
A little less than a month after being charged with burglary and criminal trespassing and subsequent re-arrest, Williams is in the news again. This time, according to the Herald-Time, he along with three others were questioned by police concerning an altercation at the Newnan Walmart. According to Newnan's Police Chief Douglas L. Meadows, “Williams was later released, though the remaining suspects were criminally charged.”
According to public record, the Newnan Police Department dispatched some squad cars to 1025 Bullsboro Drive, Newnan, Georgia 30265 after someone called 911 to report that a man had a gun in the parking lot. Authorities reportedly seized firearms found at the scene belonging to Williams.
Further investigation by the police revealed that a Shirley and a Tony Williams, the mother and brother of Katt Williams' girlfriend, Yolanda, confronted him at the Walmart because they were concerned about Yolanda's welfare. Shirley and Tony Williams were ultimately charged with disorderly conduct, and a third person at the scene, Lilly James, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
A gun in Katt Williams' possession was checked, verified and returned to him. According to the police report, it was unclear whether there was a gun pulled on someone or not.
