I was appalled to hear that "Honor Killing" is happening in the United States. First, honor means to have high respect for something so, how can you take someone's life in the name honor? There is nothing in the Holy Koran that justify taking someone's life without doing this in self defense. I understand that Islamic values and beliefs are different from Americans. Muslims from the Middle East are considered to be extremists and believe that a women have no place in Society and are treated as property. Women have fought for so many years to be treated equally to man in America and are valued. This father who felt that he was right in killing his daughter because she was becoming to westernized is Ridiculous! When you decide to live in a country where life is different from where came from then you must learn to adopt to that country, like the saying "when in Rome, do as the Romans do." As parents, you lay down the foundation of morals and values in a child. You allow that child to grow and flourish knowing that you have given that child everything he or she needs to survive in this world. It is your faith in God or Allah that will protect and lead your child as God sees fit. God is the one that judges and punishes Not Man!

Excellent article. We need more voices such as this blog to expose the stupidity and hypocrisies of idiots that kill their children. I guest your previous commenter, BEN, is suggesting that his father has the right to kill he or his sister when they act as whores!

this is horrible. who would actually kill their child for who they are and becoming. no matter what that will always be your child and you should make them your first priority and never intend to hurt them in any type of way

great words, i knew Noor personally and was fortunate enough to be one of her close friends…what happened to her is simply unfair and ridiculous

something like this should not be ocurring in this world

the man who put her through this HAS to get the death penalty, so there can be an example set for the fools who think killing has a level of HONOR!!!
