
DJ AM was found dead in his Manhattan apartment of an apparent drug overdose
Adam Goldstein, 36-year-old, affectionately know as DJ AM was found dead in his Manhattan apartment of an apparent drug overdose. DJ AM’s body was found with a crack pipe and unspecified prescription drugs nearby. He was well known for his “mash up” style of spinning the wax.
On September 18, 2008, what appeared to be a routine departure from Columbia Metropolitan Airport just before midnight, the Learjet 60 DJ AM was on crashed in Columbia, S.C. killing pilot Sarah Lemmon and her co-pilot, James Bland. Lemmon and Bland along with two others were killed. DJ AM and former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker survived the plane crash. Barker and DJ AM had performed together under the name TRVSDJ-AM at a free concert in Columbia the night of the crash.
