While disembarking from Air Force One after vacationing at the Grand Canyon, Mrs. Obama was seen wearing shorts. As far as I am concern, it seems like a normal thing to do on a warm summer day.
The blogosphere is buzzing about what the first lady should or should not wear. First, it was whether or not she had the right to bare those firm arms of hers, and now, the pictures of her wearing “short” shorts are sparking a similar debate.
One news headline read, “The biggest scandal to hit the White House: How much skin is really in?” Some so-called fashion experts and experts in the field of First Ladyology (I made up this word) immediate got to work by comparing her to Nancy, Barbara, Eleanor, Laura and Hillary.
Michelle is uniquely Michelle and you can not used your projection, perception or understanding of a “First Lady” and clone her into your mental images of what you have seen before. She has to leave her own foot prints in the sand – and strangely enough, there is no right or wrong way. So, tomorrow if she decides to sport some locs, get over it!
My question to you is – is it OK for Ms. Obama to be casual and comfortable with her body? Or do you feel she should be more conservative?
