Weekly magazine released a never shown before video that they obtained. Us Weekly did not say where video came from.
The video shows footage of Michael Jackson’s head catching fire during his 1984 Pepsi commercial filming at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. It also shows a flash of pyrotechnics igniting Jackson’s hair and scalp.
In the video, Jackson didn’t realize his hair was on fire as he continue to dance. The video also showed people on the stage tackling Jackson with to extinguish the fire. When Jackson resurfaced from the pile, a visible bald spot could be seen on top of his head.
As a result of the accident, Pepsi gave Jackson $1.5 million, which he donated to a burn center named after him.
Some are speculating that the burning incident triggered Jackson’s dependency on pain killer.
