Michael Jackson
When Michael Jackson collapsed at his rented mansion last month, the singer had "numerous track marks" on his arms – and that those marks "could certainly be consistent with the regular IV use of a drug, like Diprivan."
According to CNN, their sources did not want to be identified because the investigation is ongoing. The CNN source said investigators found numerous bottles of prescription drugs in the singer’s $100,000-a-month rented mansion in Holmby Hills, but he would not confirm whether Diprivan was among them.
He also cautioned that it was too soon to say whether an intravenous drip of Diprivan caused the track marks. Some appeared fresh; others older, he said. The new ones could have resulted from the IVs that paramedics used when they tried to revive Jackson after he was found unconscious.
Another CNN source with knowledge of the case said Jackson’s veins were collapsed in both arms, suggesting frequent intravenous drug use. CNN also noted that the singer did not have any hair.
In 1984 Michael Jackson received hospital treatment for serious burns to his head after his hair caught on fire during a freak Pepsi commercial accident in Los Angeles. A firework display erupted behind Jackson, showering him in sparks and setting his hair on fire. Some of the audience thought the incident was part of the act. Steve Hoeffin, the plastic surgeon that treated Jackson said he would need surgery to his head.
In a 1993 Oprah Winfrey interview, Jackson said – "I’m a black American. I am proud to be a black American. I am proud of my race, and I am proud of who I am. I have a lot of pride and dignity of who I am. He also added "I have a skin disorder that destroys the pigmentation of the skin. It’s something I cannot help. When people make up stories that I don’t like who I am, it hurts me," Jackson told Winfrey.
The question is what caused Jackson’s skin to change to "paper-white skin" or "white as a white T-shirt" after his death? Was it due to the vitiligo
that Mr. Jackson said he had or was it due to drugs reaction with what he had in his body, if any, combined with the IV that the paramedics used while trying to revive him?
Jackson’s death certificate lists the cause of death as "deferred." The toxicology report will show if prescription painkillers played any role in Jackson’s death.
The coroner’s office is still running tests on Jackson’s brain, hoping to determine whether he had any underlying condition that contributed to his death. The toxicology report will tell us definitively as to why Mr. Jackson died. Experts are saying Diprivan, a powerful anesthesia drug, allegedly used as a sleep aid by the singer, might be hard to detect because it has a very short shelf life in the body.
