Chicago Transit rape suspect
Investigators say the woman was waiting for train on the CTA Platform at 1599 N. Clybourn about 3 a.m. on Nov. 14, 2008 when the suspect approached her from behind, took her cell phone, robbed her and sexually assaulted her.
Image of the assaulter from captured surveillance camera is a black male in his late 20s or early 30s, 5-foot-10 with a slim build and a missing front tooth. He has very short hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. He was wearing a dark jacket with stripes on the sleeves, a turtleneck, blue jeans and black shoes.
The suspect has been released without his name being publish because the victim does not want to press charges.
Victims opting NOT to press charges are nothing new in Chicago or most major cities. Until you live it you will not understand. In most cases, prior to the start of the case; the victim either gets threaten, victimized again or kill by the assaulter, his friends or his fellow gang members.
The reality is in most cases the assaulter via his police connection or his attorney have easy access to the victim’s home address. Another reality is that the victim does not have money to move to another part of town while the case is pending, or the victim can not stop going to work on a public transportation when she does not have a car.
