Obama’s Florida rally was disrupted by African-American protesters

CORAL GABLES, Florida — Today Senator Barack Obama’s campaign rally in Coral Gables, Florida was disrupted by about 10 African-American protesters holding signs that called themselves, "Blacks Against Obama." The protesters looked like students from a local high school or college.

The signs said Obama was for gay marriage and abortion, and said his candidacy was "endorsed by the KKK." Another sign said, "Jesse Jackson hates Obama."

Obama was never endorsed by the KKK and will never accept such an endorsement. Rev. Jesse Jackson is a strong supporter of Barack Obama and has never said he hates Obama.

Obama originally said the protesters could stay inside the event, but they were escorted out when they would not stop shouting.

Meanwhile, Coral Gables Students for Barack Obama, an official chapter of Students for Barack Obama, the student wing of the Obama for America campaign were organizing students to register voters, get out the vote, raise funds, spread Barack Obama’s message of hope, action, and change.
