Nora Musu Art

Born in Madison, Wisconsin to Liberian parents, Nora Musu’s art and life experience epitomize a multiculturalism that transcends boundaries or specific styles. Nora was always surrounded by art and influential artists and trained under Cietta David Mensah, MFA, at the University of Liberia.

Nora’s work brings together an eclectic sensation of visual boldness, and expressive, soulful sensitivity of her life experiences. She draws on the broad panorama of her African ancestry to create her first US collection, Ngewo Domain which includes ‘Sandezoe and Iron Shoulders’ capturing impressions of ancient African stone and wooden sculpture.

The artist achieves this effect with a creative, innovate blend of acrylic polymers, iron and copper particles enhanced by a process of rusting and patina that results in a three-dimensional sculptural relief effect.

Recent works of the Artist include wax encaustics such as Mal a Lame and large mixed media blends of wax and iron medium all added to create texture and emotion.
