President George W. Bush
U.S. President George W. Bush has given himself and members of his administration immunity against possible war crimes.
Why would George W. Bush grant himself immunity if he did not do any thing wrong, one might ask? Well, the American-led occupation of Iraq after the 2003 invasion was negligent at best and criminal at worst, directly causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi innocent men, women and children. Mr. George W. Bush is also in violation of the the Geneva Conventions. Thus, charges based on war crimes could possibly underlie a viable indictment against President Bush and even Vice President Cheney as a key architect of the war.
"A federal judge shut down the first American military commission since World War II, ruling that the Bush administration violated the Geneva Conventions in its handling of prisoners at the Guantanamo Bay prison," according to The Boston Globe. According to MSNBC, the military commissions" are neither lawful nor proper."
