Majority Whip James Clyburn endorses Obama

U.S. Rep. And House Majority Whip James Clyburn is endorsing Barack Obama for president. The South Carolina congressman said on Monday that he has started to phone the state’s superdelegates to ask them to get behind one candidate. When asked whether that candidate was Obama, Clyburn said yes.

U.S. Rep. James Clyburn, the third-ranking member of the U.S. House and an important voice in South Carolina politics, is one of several superdelegates to announce support for Obama in recent days as Barack Obama looks to lock up his party’s presidential nomination by Tuesday.
